Managing Director
Derek Kellman is a Managing Director in Angeles Investments’ Los Angeles office and has 15 years of investment experience. He partners with institutional clients to develop and implement strategic asset allocations, portfolio structures, investment policies, and other initiatives that support their long-term objectives. He also conducts customized analyses to help clients evaluate strategic, governance, and financial decisions. Before joining Angeles, Derek worked at City National Rochdale, where he helped manage $2 billion in assets for private wealth clients, and at Signature Estate & Investment Advisors, where he was responsible for investment research and trading. He began his career in 2011 with the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians, helping manage a $400 million investment portfolio that supported the Tribe’s long-term financial and community objectives. Derek earned an M.B.A. from the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business and a B.A. in Business Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He is a CFA® charterholder and a member of CFA Society Los Angeles and AIF’s Future Leaders Program. He also serves on Angeles’ Sustainability Committee and the Board of Directors of the C5 Youth Foundation of Southern California (C5LA) and volunteers as an evaluator for the LA2050 Grants Challenge.
